Support The Artisans: Kahani

The Support the Artisans category of blogs posts is very important to me because it is a small way for me to highlight/showcase traditional arts and crafts for which I hold great admiration. Today I am excited to share with you a wonderful venture that supports artisans & involves gorgeous textiles!

Are you familiar with KahaniI found them a few weeks ago and fell in love with their work and products. Here is the story in their own words.. "Kahani is born out of the merging of two desires: to create a line of beautiful, handcrafted garments and accessories, and to do so in an ethical, sustainable manner that preserves artistic integrity and age-old cultural traditions — while at the same time fostering economic self-sufficiency.
The line is comprised of collections highlighting indigenous craftwork that in some cases are simply vanishing. Creating each piece is a lengthy process rooted in the handmade traditions of spinning, dyeing, weaving, wood block printing and embroidery. All of our products are handcrafted using the finest materials; subtle variations in color and texture recall the makers’ touch. It is with great thought and sincere passion that our name, which means story, was chosen.
Kahani is about the narrative. Stories of a unique white desert and its people. Stories behind age-old indigenous crafts. And stories in the making of each piece. "

And for Once Upon A Tea Time readers, Kahani is offering a 20% discount on all orders above $40.

Just use the code "TEATIME20" and this is valid for 1 week (from now on to November 12- midnight).   You can visit Kahani online at their website to shop to your hearts content and also be sure to Like their Facebook page, so that you can receive news of sales, promotions etc.
